Riaz Mahar
Mr. Riaz Ahmed’s research interests lie in English Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, and English Language Teaching (ELT). His primary focus is on the challenges faced by Pakistani learners of English as a second language, particularly in pronunciation, vocabulary acquisition, communicative competence, and classroom pedagogy. He is also interested in language policy, bilingualism, and the influence of local languages on English learning in Pakistan.
Mr Riaz Ahmed holds a Master’s degree in English from Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, and an MPhil in English from Iqra University Karachi. He has over 12 years of teaching experience in higher education. He served as Visiting Faculty at Sukkur IBA University for six years and has been teaching at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development (BBSU-TECH), Khairpur, for more than eight years. His passion for English language and literature is reflected in his academic contributions and articles published in leading English newspapers, including Dawn, The Express Tribune, and The News (as Riaz Mahar) He actively participates in academic, research, and professional development activities, promoting quality education and language learning.
