Khairpur Mirs, November 8, 2024 – The Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Center (CCESC) at BBSUTSD celebrated the successful completion of its two-day course, Building Resilience: Climate Adaptation & Disaster Risk Reduction. This event brought together experts and participants to explore key strategies for climate resilience and sustainability. Day 1 Highlights The workshop commenced with a warm welcome by Abdul Shakoor Shaikh, followed by Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar’s comprehensive session on Climate Change and its Vulnerability Assessment. Dr. Asim Ali Abro presented Insights of Climate Change and Abdul Shakoor Shaikh led an engaging session on Measuring My Carbon Footprint. The day continued with Mr. Habib Usmani discusses the Importance of Local Adaptation and Mr. Zameer Lashari emphasizes the Role of Volunteers in Community Awareness. Day 2 Highlights The second day featured an in-depth discussion on Climate Finance led by Mr. Habib Usmani. Dr. Asim Ali Abro explored the connection between WASH & Climate Change The event ended with closing remarks and a certificate distribution ceremony by the Vice Chancellor, celebrating the participants' dedication and engagement. The course received positive feedback for its blend of expert insights, hands-on activities, and participant interaction, reinforcing collective efforts for climate resilience and sustainability.
