Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology & Skill Development (BBS-UTECH), Khairpur Mirs, organized a stirring Defence Day Walk today to pay homage to the courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and martyrs. The event was jointly organized by the Student Welfare Office (SWO) in collaboration with the Young Peace & Development Corps (YPDC) BBS-UTech chapter.
The patriotic procession commenced at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and concluded at Zero Point near the RACT Department. Faculty members, administrative personnel, and a large number of students actively participated, carrying national flags and banners paying tribute to the defenders of the motherland. The atmosphere resonated with patriotic fervour as participants chanted slogans in honour of the nation’s heroes.
Due to official commitments, the Worthy Vice-Chancellor was unable to attend the proceedings. Prof. Dr. Manthar Keerio, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FoET), presided over the event and delivered the keynote address. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Keerio emphasized the significance of 6th September in national history, calling upon the youth to emulate the spirit of unity, discipline, and selflessness demonstrated by national martyrs. He underscored that the defence of the homeland is not solely the responsibility of the armed forces but a collective duty shared by every citizen.
The event was organized and coordinated with a collaboration of Student Welfare Office and YPDC BBS-UTECH chapter. The rally concluded with a collective prayer for the progress, security, and prosperity of Pakistan.
